WTF???

The Spring Summer 2009 shows are on right now, and I haven't been keeping up because well, I have a life and don't have eons of time to leisurely scroll through the collections. I do keep up with the big players of course, and my favourite designers, but by the large I rely on other bloggers to keep me in the loop. Obviously much Alexander Wang and Balmain passed my screen. Both of whom I loved their previous two collections, but not this season. I felt both were weaker collections than previous. Balmain in particular felt like a rehash and frankly, they aren't looks that I can replicate myself, nor looks that would look good on anyone under 5'8" and a size 2 so therefore I have less interest in them.

We're in Paris Fashion Week now, which I will definitely check out when I find some time as it's always the pinnacle. However I just saw pictures from the Comme des Garçons show and all I can say is WHAT THE EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFING HELL.

The FUCK is it? Now I love fashion; whilst I don't always understand what designers come out with, I can respect them. I respect Rei Kawakubo and her work. But I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS. AT ALL. IT'S LIKE SOME BIZARRE WEDDING OUTFIT FOR A YETI. I know this isn't meant to be taken literally, you don't wear it as is, but I can't relate to this creation at all and therefore I can't take it seriously or respect it. How can the model even see where she's going?
