Spring really is in the air

Yesterday I went out with friends to see a movie (Wall-E, highly overrated people), eat yum cha and generally hang out. Lots of fun and good fun, a bit of shopping and of course, fantastic company :D We checked out the shops in Southgate, as well as a vintage store in Degraves St. I found a pair of drop-crotch black pants (in the Degraves St shop which name escapes me) which were very unattractively labelled "poo catchers". YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT, POO CATCHERS. For the love of god why the hell would you label an item of clothing poo catchers? Do you plan on repulsing everyone who may have tried them on by conjuring up images of diapers? Just call them drop-crotch trousers! Is that so hard?!

In a undefinable shop in Southgate (i.e. a mix of vintage, contemporary and frankly bizarre/hideous clothes) found more pairs of drop-crotch pants, mercifully generically named as "black pants". I found a pair of the most hilarious exaggerated jodhpur pants which I tried on - much to the laughter of my friends. The sales assistant said they were cute, I thought she should be fired for bad judgment. It looked like I had saddlebags on my hips. Lastly there was a pretty baby pink tulle skirt which I really liked.
My friend has photos of both which I need to get off her. xD

This is what I wore, so err first outfit post too. Jo you should be proud. Since I actually went out in public I made an effort with my outfit, as opposed to lounging around the house in my pyjamas and white tee. I'm wearing a Ralph Lauren navy blazer, over American Apparel white tee and grey tri-blend jumper with a floral skirt that I got from the girls department of Target, lol.

By the way, I did get that job at the bakery, yay! I start tomorrow. And I have a group interview at David Jones in 2 weeks or so, so if I could get a Christmas job there as well I would be set for the summer. If I don't drop dead of exhaustion. Plus, exams are in about 5 weeks (!!!!) so it's time to really knuckle down. Of course, I say that but I won't make any concerted effort until the panic starts to set in around 10 days out from exams. A proper uni student, I am.
